Interlock Laws Now Cover More DUI Offenders

This article looks at alcohol ignition interlocks and how laws strengthening their use are on the rise. targeting driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol offenders. Designed to prevent drinking drivers from being able to start their vehicles, the interlock devices are now required in some states for even first-time DUI offenders. Alcohol-impaired driving still remains a large factor in crash fatalities. The article also briefly discusses new technologies for quickly, accurately, and unobtrusively detecting alcohol in a driver's system.
