FUEL CELL SYSTEM FOR UNDERWATER WORK

The main problem concerning underwater work submersibles today is that of limited work time. After a systematic study of four feasible power sources, it was concluded that the fuel cell system had the best performance potential within the limited economic scope of a non-governmental financed agency. Another advantage of the fuel cell powerplant is the manufacture of a by-product, drinking water. The study also considers the potentials involved in using nuclear power, high-energy battery power, and diesel power.
