The article discusses the handling of transcontainers at port terminals, using straddle carriers, straddle loaders and fork trucks. Reference is made to the employment of special equipment at containership and semicontainership landing places for roll-on/roll-off service, in empty-container depots, and for loading and unloading containers in collective freight traffic. Finally, the handling of piece-goods as unit loads was discussed.
