THE INPUT-OUTPUT TECHNIQUE OF ANALYSIS WAS USED TO ESTIMATE THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF ROUTING A NEW INTERSTATE HIGHWAY (I-80) ON A CORRIDOR IN SOUTHWESTERN WYOMING. THE IMPACT WAS MEASURED IN TERMS OF SALES, HOUSEHOLD INCOME, AND EMPLOYMENT GENERATED. LOCAL INPUT COEFFICIENTS WERE DEVELOPED AND USED TO ESTIMATE THE IMPACT OF THE INTERSTATE ON THE CORRIDOR IN 1967, AS WELL AS THE CUMULATIVE IMPACT OF CONSTRUCTION, 1955- 1975. A NEW TRANSACTION TABLE WAS CONSTRUCTED FOR 1983 AND THE COEFFICIENTS DERIVED FROM THIS TABLE WERE USED TO FORECAST THE CUMULATIVE IMPACT FOR THE 1976-1990 PERIOD. /NTIS/
