ATLAS OF FREIGHT FACILITIES

THE ATLAS OF FREIGHT FACILITIES IDENTIFIES THE LOCATION OF THE REGION'S NATURAL GAS AND PETROLEUM PIPELINE NETWORK, ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION RIGHT-OF-WAY, MOTOR FREIGHT TERMINALS, RAIL FREIGHT YARDS AND RIGHT- OF-WAY, WATERBORNE FREIGHT FACILITIES, AIR FREIGHT TERMINALS AND FREIGHT FORWARDERS AND WAREHOUSES. EACH ATLAS SHEET IS 4 FEET BY 3 FEET IN SIZE AND COVERS FOUR GEOGRAPHICAL TOWNSHIPS. EACH SHEET IS ACCOMPANIED BY A REFERENCE INDEX, AND THERE IS AN ALPHABETICAL CROSS-INDEX FOR THE ENTIRE ATLAS. THE ATLAS REPRESENTS A COMPREHENSIVE INVENTORY OF THE REGION'S FREIGHT TRANSPORT NETWORK. THIS INFORMATION IS A PRIME TOOL WITH WHICH THE PLANNER CAN INVESTIGATE THE FEASIBILITY OF MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORT CORRIDORS, CONSOLIDATED RIGHT-OF-WAYS AND TERMINALS, AND REDEVELOPMENT OF UNDERUTILIZED TRANSPORT PROPERTIES. OTHER STUDIES UNDERWAY AT THE CATS WILL IDENTIFY HOW GOODS AND FREIGHT VEHICLES UTILIZE THIS NETWORK. MATERIAL IS UPDATED ANNUALLY. COMPLETE SETS OR INDIVIDUAL SHEETS ARE AVAILABLE AT REPRODUCTION COST.
