JOINT DEVELOPMENT IMPLEMENTATION STUDY

JOINT DEVELOPMENT IS A RELATIVELY NEW PLANNING CONCEPT APPLICABLE TO THE DESIGNING OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY CORRIDORS. IT IS INTENDED AS A METHOD WHEREBY FEDERAL-AID FUNDS CAN BE APPLIED TO MORE THAN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ACTUAL ROADWAY. JOINT DEVELOPMENT PLANNING WAS ADOPTED BY THE URBAN DESIGN CONCEPT ASSOCIATES (UDCA) AS THE BASIS FOR THEIR CONSULTANT CONTRACT WITH BALTIMORE CITY AND THE STATE ROADS COMMISSION FOR THE DESIGN OF THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. /AUTHOR/
