THE PETER PRINCIPLE

This book defines a new science of Hierarchiology. This science and the Peter Principle were discovered by research into incompetence. The book presents a humourous, but penetrating and thorough analysis of incompetence in the world. The Peter Principle states 'In a Hierarchy every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence.' The Corollary states 'In time, every post tends to be occupied by an employee who is incompetent to carry out its duties.' The book further discusses pull and promotion. It presents symptoms that identify final placement. The book also covers percussive sublimation--being kicked upstairs. The book concludes with Peter's Prescription.
