Evaluation of Accessible Facilities for Elderly and Disabled People in Railway Station
This paper describes how the methodology to estimate and assess the importance and effect of accessible railway stations for elderly and disabled people. The method is shown in the case of stations in Sakai city. It is build based on new law, The Transportation Barrier-Free Law and questionnaire data of elderly and disabled people. The questionnaire data are applied to another city and considered on effectiveness and problems from the point of transportation planners.
