Study on Evaluation Method of Improvement and Development of Barrier-Free Facilities for the Elderly and Disabled People
This paper discusses the study of facility design evaluation methods to achieve traffic facilities most favorable to users when planning and designing traffic facilities under consideration for the elderly and disabled people. This paper picks up sidewalks as a facility, and focuses on (1) the establishment of definite measure for decision makers to decide the priority of policy options, (2) the setting of a comprehensive barrier-free indicator, and (3) the utilization of the heart beat measurement method as an evaluation item.
