CLIMATIC MODELS THAT WILL PROVIDE TIMELY MISSION SUCCESS INDICATORS FOR PLANNING AND SUPPORTING WEATHER SENSITIVE OPERATIONS

Ceiling and visibility probabilities are modeled to provide joint occurrence frequencies. Still further data reduction is achieved by compacting ceiling and visibility probabilities for computer storage and processing. Time and space decay functions are devised for estimating joint ceiling and visibility relationships between events separated by time and distance. A method is suggested for estimating climatic probabilities in data void regions. (Author)
