SUGGESTED METHODS OF RECONDITIONING CAST COPPER-CASE TAILSHAFT LINERS

Prepared by Panel M-16 ( Modernization of Propulsion Shaft System ) under the guidance of the Ships Machinery Committee, the bulletin is one of two that outline phases of an extensive program on the investigation and evaluation of various types of shaft bearings and related problems under simulated and actual conditions. The recommendations can be of assistance in repairing cast copper-base tailshaft liners and could be of special value to repair shipyards and small shipbuilding organizations.
