This paper presents a review of the principal design parameters of 196 Offshore Towing and Supply Vessels built since the conception of the industry. The survey includes 46 Anchor Handling/Towing Tugs, 67 Offshore Supply Vessels, and 83 Anchor Handling/Towing Supply Vessels. All vessels used are representative of their length and horsepower class. The study was done with an aim to show trends in the principal design characteristics of these vessels. Tables and plots illustrating these have been shown in order to provide aids for designers, owners, and operators in planning future vessels, so as to maximize their capabilities and performance.
