CONCRETE PAVEMENTS -UTILIZATION OF LOCAL MATERIALS IN CONCRETE PAVEMENTS EXPERIMENTAL PAVEMENT IN BUSSAC

CHAUSSEES EN BETON - UTILISATION DES MATERIAUX LOCAUX DANS LES CHAUSSEES EN BETON - CHAUSSEE EXPERIMENTALE DE BUSSAC

The aim of the tests conducted on the experimental pavement in Bussac was to study concrete structures and formulae of a lower cost than conventional formulae. Tests were carried out on new structrures (lean concrete, thick slab under foundation, porous concrete foundation). Concrete formulae using local materials (soft limestone, silex, special sand, fly-ash) led to a satisfactory technico-economic compromise. A detailed follow-up study of the time-related behaviour of the pavement will be described in a later number. /TRRL/
