OPTIMISATION OF THE HULL OF CARGO SHIPS

Two optimisation programs described in this study are based on a dynamic calculation model of digital variables and have been used for hull optimisation of a 5,000 dwt cargo ship, a 38,000 dwt bulk-carrier, and a 100,009 dwt tanker using the parameters of weight and cost. Practical application of the programs in design of new ships has resulted in 2-8% savings in hull weight. Order from BSRA as No. 49,569.
