FACTORS OF INFLUENCE ON WORKING TIME REQUIRED IN TECHNICAL PREPARATION FOR PRODUCTION, AND POSSIBILITIES OF PREDICTION

The improvement of methods for determining the working time required in the different phases of developing a product can be an important contribution to the efficient working of project engineers, designers, and planning technologists; the various phases are affected by a number of external and internal factors. The Authors analyse and discuss the problem in so far as it concerns shipbuilding at the Warnowwerft, Warnemunde (East Germany), and present a procedure, including the development of an algorithm, for quantifying for planning purposes these influences on the time required in preparation for production.
