Operation of trucks and other equipment during winter months involves high maintenance and operating costs. Winterizing too often is regarded simply as a process of checking coolant freeze protection and the state of battery charging. Certainly those two items should not be neglected, but they are only a small part of the total winterization program. Virtually every major system on a truck, loader, or any other piece of equipment is vulnerable to subnormal temperatures. Too often overlooked is the importance of keeping all systems as resistant to weather damage as possible.
