NEW METHOD OF PREDICTING THE STIFFNESS OF ASPHALT PAVING MIXTURES

An experimental program was set up to determine the factors that have the greatest influence on the elastic modulus of asphalt mixes. Analysis of the test results has permitted the extension of the range of existing methods -- generally specific to a definite type of mix -- for predicting the stiffness moduli while improving the precision of the prediction. This new approach to the problem uses either two nomographs or a computer program.
