MODELING HEATER TECHNIQUES FOR IN-PLACE RECYCLING OF ASPHALT PAVEMENTS

Some problems which affect the ultimate benefit of heater techniques in the repair of flexible pavements are discussed. Problems have arisen as a result of the exposure of asphaltic materials to excessively high temperatures. A method for analyzing the temperature distribution in the depth of an asphalt pavement during heater operations is described. A mathematical model and analysis of current operations are introduced and developed in this discussion.
