The article discusses two applications of powder coated guard rails, one in Texas which has been in place for 10 years, and a more recent application in Maryland. Among the advantages cited for this type of coating are: white guardrails would have a good target value which would reduce accidents; unlike painted barriers, powder coated guardrails would be self cleaning in the elements; there would be no maintenance costs for painting. Some results with the installations are reported.
