Safety Aspects of Air Transportation of Handicapped Persons
This paper describes how numerous evacuations were simulated in air transportation that used an aircraft cabin simulator, which was capable of reproducing various conditions such as variable pitch and roll attitude with different evacuation paths. Besides the subjects being in good physical condition, many of the simulated passengers had disabilities and this paper gives specific examples of evacuation techniques used for the evacuation of disabled or elderly passengers.
