THE HUMAN FACTOR IN TRAFFIC

DER FAKTOR MENSCH IM VERKEHR

The expression "human error" is used frequently in studies, reports and statistics regarding traffic accidents. The "blame" is also attached to this factor in the case of most accidents. The term "human error" is, however, much too vague and ambiguous. The use of this vague term should be avoided in the scientific discussion of traffic accidents and more objective terminology should be employed. /TRRL/
