Safety Is No Accident
The cruise ship industry holds the record of being one of the safest transportation modes available. Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) members are dedicated to making one of their highest priorities that of onboard safety culture. CLIA members partner with an international array of response agencies, including the United States Coast Guard (USCG), to ensure safety. USCG activities in relation to cruise ships may include search and rescue. Emergency operations, including command centers and preparedness exercises, are examined.
