Creating a Culture of Information Sharing
The Implementation Recommendations of 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 were signed into law on August 3, 2007. Federal information sharing practice and performance assessment was brought into sharper focus as a result, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence helped to identify 14 key areas of measurement standards. Compliance by the United States Coast Guard is assessed. Three important reasons to share information are: safety, security, and stewardship.
