Opportunities for TDM as a Climate Change Response

The transportation demand management (TDM) industry should provide a swift and well-aimed response to climate change for two key reasons: 1) a quick shift from debating climate change's nature to providing multi-faceted solutions is needed because of the scale of the problem, and 2) simultaneously deploying all available tools, from human behavior change to technological advancements, is required to address climate change. Using a brief case study on small-scale TDM program contributions, the authors focus on climate change solutions, including business and policy roles, with the intent of highlighting key TDM climate change opportunities with a goal of stimulating more TDM industry innovation and action.
