ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL. NEW GATEWAY TO THE SUNSHINE STATE

Orlando International, Florida's third busiest airport, was modernized and expanded from a former US Air Force Base. An entirely new passenger handling facility was designed. The selection of a people-mover system for conveying passengers was determined by a number of factors peculiar to the location. All the new installations will be designed for minimal energy consumption; use of solar energy is being considered for powering many installations. Special emphasis will be given to landscaping.
