STRUCTURE OF THE REYNOLDS STRESS NEAR THE WALL

The paper is a report of an experimental study of the nature of the unsteady flow near the wall that is responsible for the Reynolds stress which develops in the boundary layer on a smooth flat plate. Information about the flow field in the region near the wall is of great importance for a proper understanding of the structure of turbulence in the boundary layer. (Author)
