THE TROUBLE WITH CLUTTER

One of the most persistent problems associated with marine radar is the detection of targets in clutter which results from returns from the sea and/or precipitation. Certain methods to eliminate the effects of clutter are reviewed, including a solution involving video processing techniques to overcome the clutter and also to improve picture clarity.
