TELEX PROCEDURES IN THE MAROTS MARITIME MOBILE SATELLITE SYSTEM

Telex procedures are proposed for the MAROTS system. These procedures were designed to permit correct interworking with the CCITT signalling systems A, B and C and to permit a uniform operating procedure regardless of the shore station the ship is working through at any particular time. The system has been designed so that any failure in the procedures results in adequate service signals and clearing of the connection, thus preventing any satellite channels or ship terminals becoming "busy" through no fault of their own.
