The author briefly describes Warren Petroleum Co.'s recent expansion of its natural-gas-liquids (NGL) facilities near Houston, which resulted in the largest ship off-loading operation in the U. S. Butane and propane can be unloaded simultaneously, each at a rate of 15,000 bbls/hr. Addition of four new storage wells at the Mont Belvieu terminal provides a 44-million-bbl storage capacity. Until now, liquefied-petroleum (LP)-gas has been brought to U. S. ports in limited amounts, but this situation is now expected to change.
