MARINE VISUAL SIMULATORS IN PORT DESIGN

Marine visual simulators regularly used as training aids for ships' officers in port familiarization and operational training are described. Advantages in using a simulator as an aid throughout the design phases of a port are discussed. It is shown how its use facilitates the design of navigation aid systems and the defining of environmental limitations to port operations.
