A Multi-Agent Design for Sense and Respond Logistics Simulation

Sense and Respond Logistics (SARL) is a logistics resources management methodology that is highly adaptive, agile, and flexible, and works in an information-rich and network-centric environment. Challenges are created by software design and development for such complex system simulation, stemming from heterogeneous decision choices and communication channels' roles in producing non-deterministic outcomes. The authors describe multi-agent approach use for SARL applications' simulation. The authors also argue for aspect-oriented techniques and formal method use in these simulation designs, in order to assist in model verification and validation support. Features of an architectural description language that is aspect-oriented and multi-agent are also presented as a cross-cutting concerns reasoning mechanism.
