After a period of proving in terminal applications in the USA, pivot steer tractors have now entered the European market for ro-ro use. UK crane and hoist manufacturer Adamson Butterley is now modifying the American CTEC tractor with UK components to assure good spare parts service. CTEC tractors have been proven in the USA in both ro-ro and terminal applications. At the same time, Plan in West Germany is delivering five tractors built on a similar concept to the USSR, and the Transatlantic shipping group has decided to follow up its long term lease of the CTEC Dock Trucks used on the PAD service with the outright purchase of a further six units.
