LONG-DISTANCE FOCUSING OF CONCORDE SONIC BOOM

Infra-acoustic signals from supersonic flights of Concorde are regularly recorded in northern Sweden at distances up to 5000 km from the aircraft. Relatively high signal amplitudes are explained by a kind of long-distance focusing effect. Principle and consequences of the focusing effect are discussed.
