HIGH SPEED RAIL TRAFFIC CONTROL

STEUERUNG DES SCHIENENSCHNELLVERKEHRS

High traffic density on the lines and the efforts to reach higher speeds have resulted over the last 20 years in a rapid restructuring of train control techniques. Process calculators have already appeared in partial control fields or control systems as a whole. The DB's new lines have given considerable impetus to the rapid introduction of simplified signalling and the use of continuous automatic train control. The near future will see the appearance of a remote-control system using commercial microcomputers.
