BUSINESS AVIATION AND THE FORTUNE 1,000

A summary of business performance of the "Fortune 1,000" industrials shows that the aircraft operators are more efficient. The 514 aircraft-operating companies control 1,778 aircraft, an increase of 125 in 1977 over 1976. Comparison of the 514 companies that have corporate aircraft against 486 companies that do not, showed that operating companies accounted for 79.9% of the number of employees, 84.1% of the sales and 84.9% of the assets, 85.6% of the net income and 84.8% of the stockholders equity. Other financial indicators such as employee efficiency, etc. are also considered. The continued growth of corporate aviation within the nations top industrials seems assured.
