EFFECTS OF AIRCRAFT NOISE ON MENTAL HEALTH

In order to approach the subject epidemiologically, a simple plan was adopted which classifies disorders according to their place of contact with medical agencies: admission to psychiatric hospitals, attendance to out-patient clinics, care by general practitioners, or no contact at all. Study then began to discover what role noise might play at each of these contact points in order to learn possible associations between noise exposure and indicators of psychiatric distress or morbidity.
