RESONANCE OF RETAINING WALLS

The paper deals with the elastic dynamic analysis of a wall-soil system at resonance. The input accelerations are limited to 0.1 g and the system is viscously damped with a 20% ratio. The critical interface conditions between the wall and fill are dealt with as continuous in the light of the static pressures attained in construction. Practical parameter studies reveal a range of frequencies, pressure and pressure distribution. /TRRL/
