MECHANICAL REFRIGERATION INSTALLATIONS ON SHIPBOARD

This standard is limited to systems obtaining cooling effect by the vaporization of a refrigerant, the compression of same by power driven mechanical equipment and condensation of the compressed gas for reuse. The standard covers machinery, prime movers, pressure vessels, heat exchange apparatus, piping, etc., which during operation of the system come into contact with the primary refrigerator with any circulated secondary fluid (brine) used for transfer of heat and any accessories, controls and apparatus affecting the performance or safe operation thereof.
