MAGNETOMETRIC AND ELECTROMETRIC METHODS FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF THE DYNAMICS LANDSLIDE PROCESSES

Geophysical methods of investigating the dynamics of landslide processes are more efficient in long-term observations. Magnetometric and electrometric methods of observing the displacement of natural or man-made reference devices have become more sensitive and sophisticated. Detailed magnetic observations carried out near a borehole where magnets have been positioned, make possible the determination of the direction and velocity of displacement of the slip of soil masses at different depths. By observing the movement of stable anomalies in the natural electric field it is possible to determine the nature of sliding deformations in the zone of the capillary uplift of ground water. /TRRL/
