To tree or not to tree: the inclusion of street trees in long term financial plans and asset management plans: an urban example

Tree assets are seldom discussed in asset renewal cost valuations and are generally not represented in long term financial plans or asset management Plans. Nonetheless, public tree networks have the potential to be one of the most financially significant asset categories in Canada Bay Council's Asset Register. The purpose of this paper is to provide an example of how an urban council in New South Wales arrived at an asset replacement cost and average annual asset consumption rate for its public tree network.
