A KIS emphasis on 2nd generation asset management systems: local government and private enterprise perspectives

It is more important than ever to apply the Keep It Simple (KIS) principle for the next generation of asset management. This means understanding the drivers and matching resources to these, review what has been done so far and how it has been used to draw from practical experience, apply an evidence based approach to specifying what information we keep and used. This paper draws on the author's experiences with implementing their systems to give some insights on applying KIS in a practical way.
