RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN CARGO CAPACITY, DEADWEIGHT, AND DISPLACEMENT OF GENERAL-CARGO SHIPS

The Author examines the relationships between cargo capacity, deadweight, and displacement of modern general-cargo ships, and derives coefficients of utilisation of displacement for ships of various sizes. Numerical relationships are also illustrated, in the form of graphs, between cargo capacity and deadweight in terms of ship dimensions, speed, and operating range. Order from BSRA as No. 49,750.
