APPLICATION OF THE FINITE-ELLMENT METHOD TO THE STUDY OF HEAT EFFECTS IN WELDING

A study of heat-induced stresses and deformations in welded plates is made by the application of the finite-element method. Good agreement between the finite-element idealisation and actual test results has been found in the majority of the welded specimens used for this study. Order from BSRA as No. 49,763.
