THE DYNAMIC LOADS FOR THE STRENGTH DESIGN OF MOORED OFFSHORE STRUCTURES UNDER STORM CONDITIONS

The paper deals with a method for calculating the dynamic loads on complicated floating structures, particularly a horseshoe-type pontoon provided with a huge gantry crane for the transportation and installation of concrete modules weighing up to 10000 tons. A strength analysis program is presented, and by means of spectral analysis the most probable maximum dynamic stresses occuring once during a storm are predicted. Some model test results are given.
