STRUCTURAL LOADS ON TWIN-HULL SEMISUBMERSIBLE PLATFORMS

The paper describes a computational system for the determination of the wave-induced structural loads in regular waves on a twin-hulled semisubmersible platform. The total loading consists of hydrodynamic components due to icedent waves, diffracted waves and platform motions. Additional motion-dependent forces result from the body mass. The resulting forces are expressed in three alternative forms: distribution of pressures shear and bending moment distributions along the platform length, and forces and moments in the cross-structure between the two hulls.
