A STUDY OF REDUCED-POWER RUNNING OF SHIPS

Ship operation at reduced power, a consequence of increased fuel costs may continue for some time, and its study will increase in importance. With ship design initially based on running at normal power, running at reduced power will lower the plant efficiency unless countermeasures are taken. The authors discuss the problem, and its solution with minimum investment, and some detail. Order from BSRA as No. 49,836.
