CURING COMPOUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE PAVEMENTS

CURING COMPOUNDS ALS NABEHANDELINGSMIDDEL BIJ DE VERVAARDIGING VAN CEMENTBETONVERHARDINGEN

In order to protect a newly constructed concrete road from drying out during setting, a curing compound can be used which is sprayed on to the surface by means of aerosols. In connection with the construction of concrete roads eleven curing compounds were tested in the laboratory to make sure that the use of these products did not cause any scaling. This did not appear to be the case. The tests dealt with the following properties: drying time; damp proofing; influence upon the stiffness of the concrete surface; weathering and bonding after weathering; influence of road paints upon bonding properties. /TRRL/
