ATLANTA'S TRAFFIC-RESPONSIVE COMPUTERIZED TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM

This paper deals with the control of traffic flow through real-time, traffic-responsive, traffic-signal systems utilizing digital computers and centralized monitoring stations. The principal characteristics of the system, the results of extensive evaluation of its effectiveness, and the plans for staged system expansion are described.
