An Analytical Driver Model for Arbitrary Path Following at Varying Vehicle Speed
A simple artificial neural network analytical driver model is presented in this paper. There can be analytical calculations of driver model parameters based on the error elimination algorithm and preview-follower theory. All driver parameters are fitted as vehicle speed functions in order for driver model application scope extension, and a preview point searching algorithm is proposed to enable the driver model to follow a ground coordinate defined designated path. The suitability of the proposed driver model for arbitrary path following at varying vehicle speed is indicated by driver/vehicle closed-loop simulations.
