INFLUENCE OF THE METHOD OF CURING CONCRETE ON THE EVOLUTION IN THE STRENGTH AND MODULUS OF ELASTICITY OF THE LATTER

INFLUENCE DU MODE DE CONSERVATION DU BETON SUR L'EVOLUTION DE SA RESISTANCE ET DE SON MODULE D'ELASTICITE

Details are given of tests on concrete samples stored under different conditions. Results show that samples stored in the air have a compressive strength 30% lower than those cured in water. If samples are prevented from drying during the first 3 days, the final strength will be similar to that of samples stored in water. As regards moduli of elasticity, the influence of storage methods is more marked between 28 days and one year. /TRRL/
